Big Creek Greenway offers much to Alpharetta residents. The greenway is a walking/jogging trail that is approximately 8 miles long.  Big Creek parallels North Point Parkway, from Windward Parkway at Marconi Drive on the north end to Mansell Road on the south end. The trail encircles a large wetland area between Haynes Bridge Road and Mansell Road. You will be able to get up close to many wildlife such as deer, ducks, geese and a variety of birds.

Big Creek Greenway is active on most sunny days but especially on the weekends! You will be joined by individuals and families who love to jog, walk, and bike along the greenway. It's a beautiful area to experience and relax.

GeorgiaTails.com states that Alpharetta City Engineer Rob Warrilow created the original 1.6 mile section of the trail in a 100-year flood plane near Northpoint Mall. The Alpharetta city council endorsed Warrilow's idea and worked with him to find resources to fund the project.  As city planners for both Roswell and Forsyth County saw Alpharetta's success they too wanted to extend the trail into their area. Forsyth County has led the way, completing 6.8 miles of pathway and planning 7 more miles.
